Pada studi doktoralnya, Weintraub kembali ke Indonesia untuk sebuah penelitian lain mengenai wayang golek, yang kemudian ditelurkan dalam sebuah buku berjudul <em>Dangdut Stories</em>. </p> <p>“Pada dua kesempatan itu saya mulai mendengar dangdut,A wata uku za a share fagen Gasar Afirka - BBC Hau, saya suka. Meski buku dan keahliannya bermain dan menyanyikan dangdut menjadi bagian penting dari pekerjaannya sebagai profesor ia mengaku benar-benar menyukai dangdut.</p> <p>“<em>Genuinely love</em> dangdut. Saya merasa musik ini enak,Mulberry outlet, bagus,christian louboutin, sangat mewakili Indonesia,” pujinya. </p> <p>Teori ini pula yang kemudian membuat Weintraub cukup terkenal. Jika umumnya orang menyebut dangdut berasal dari India atau Timur Tengah, maka pria berusia diatas setengah abad ini yakin dangdut lah jenis musik yang layak disebut asli Indonesia.</p> <p>"Tentu ada pengaruh dari India, atau Timur Tengah atau dari mana saja, tetapi dangdut dikembangkan oleh orang lokal sampai ke pelosok Indonesia."</p> <p>Begitu merasuknya cita rasa dangdut dalam jatidiri orang Indonesia, maka kemudian muncul berbagai varian dangdut terutama di daerah. Dangdut pun disuarakan dalam beragam suara, hampir sekaya nuansa bahasa daerah Indonesia sendiri.</p> <p>"Misalnya ada dangdut koplo, dangdut Batak, dangdut Jawa, macam-macam banyak sekali," jelasnya.</p> <p>Dangdut yang dipandang sebagai musik kaum marjinal dari kalangan ekonomi bawah juga dipandang sesuai dengan identitas Indonesia setidaknya sampai saat ini,ghd.</p> <p>"Bukankah mayoritas orang Indonesia memang kalangan menengah bawah? Itu cocok dengan massa dangdut,ghd straighteners."</p> <h2>Dangdut dan blues</h2> <p>Weintraub kini mengajarkan dangdut sebagai bagian dari mata kuliah musik Indonesia, yang mulai diajarkan di sejumlah universitas AS.</p> <p>Ini bukan pertama kalinya jenis musik asal Indonesia dipelajari sebagai kajian akademik serius di negara Paman Sam itu. Program Studi gamelan misalnya menurut Weintraub dibuka di sekitar seratusan universitas di sana.</p> <p>"Amerika terobses dengan gamelan. (Tapi) sekarang juga mulai banyak yang suka dengan dangdut," tambahnya bangga.</p> <p>Beberapa mahasiswa di Pittsburgh pernah punya grup dangdut sendiri meski kemudian bubar sehingga mungkin kini Dangdut Cowoys satu-satunya yang masih tersisa di sana,cheap ghd straighteners.</p> <p>"Saya berharap nanti akan ada program studi dangdut juga di Amerika," tambahnya sambil tergelak.</p> <p>Apakah dia sendiri merasa dirinya terosesi dengan kesukaannya pada dangdut?</p> <p>“Mungkin untuk menulis buku Anda harus menggeluti tiap sisinya dan tidak akan bisa kalau tidak terobsesi."</p> <p>Tetapi ayah satu anak yang sudah remaja ini merasa upaya mendekatkan masyarakat Amerika atau asing mana pun pada dangdut agak terhambat pada soal bahasa pengantar.
