,cheap longchamp le pliage tote
As you’re probably aware, rape is dominating the news right now. Political activist Julian Assange is currently fighting extradition to Sweden on suspicion of rape, sexual molestation and unlawful coercion. But,nike air max pas cher, asks writer and feminist campaigner Julie Bindel, who are the people supporting Julian Assange and what does it mean for victims of rape?

Assange - editor/founder of WikiLeaks, a media website which has published information from whistleblowers about, for example, the Iraq war &ndash, longchamp outlet; remains ‘a guest’ in the Ecuadorian Embassy at cost to the British taxpayer despite the allegations.

This would have been a relatively straightforward issue were Assange not wanted for questioning by Swedish police, hollister abercrombie pas cher. The allegations come from two separate complainants, longchamp le pliage, with the second complaininat's experience described in court (according to The Independnt) as follows: 'As he tried to penetrate her without a condom, she alleges, she repeatedly attempted to avoid penetration: her claim is that she tried "several times to reach for a condom which Assange had stopped her from doing by holding her arms and bending her legs open and try to penetrate her with his penis without using a condom." Whilst the truth of the allegations has yet to be tried, should they be found to be genuine if that doesn't describe rape, then what does?

And yet because the US government is opposed to state secrets being made public, and has already imprisoned one of the whistleblowers accused of supplying information to the site, many left-wing folk are flocking to protect Assange from extradition, among them a slew of big names, longchamp sale, utterly eclipsing the real issue here.

It started with George Galloway Respect MP for Bradford, who attacked the attempts to extradite Julian Assange to Sweden, arguing that "even if the allegations made by these two women were 100 per cent true. . . they don't constitute rape." Then came Jemima Khan’s brother the financier Ben Goldsmith, who tweeted, ‘I’m with @georgegalloway on Assange. Trumped up Swedish “rape&rdquo, magasin hollister; charges are a ruse to get him to an American jail. Scary stuff.’ Meanwhile rapper M.I.A, who stole into the embassy herself at Assange&rsquo, nike air max;s request prior to his speech, has said: “I don’t really believe the rape charges.” And finally, former MP and champion of the oppressed, Tony Benn , who said in a speech to the Stop the War Coalition, that although the sex Assange had with the two complainants may well have been non-consensual,abercrombie pas cher, it does not constitute rape, louis vuitton replica. Shocking? Yes. Surprising? No.

Rape deniers are usually men (and women) from the conservative lobby, many of whom believe that women have a responsibility to keep ourselves safe by not drinking excess alcohol or wearing short skirts. Assange’s supporters are mainly left-wing human rights advocates. But what about women’s human rights?

In law an unconscious person cannot give consent. But women all over the world who know fine well what it is like to be raped and disbelieved will be appalled at this gang of so-called freedom of speech advocates painting Assange’s accusers as either lying opportunists or dupes of the Americans. Less than 6% of reported rapes end in a conviction in Britain. The rubbish spouted by Assange’s supporters will only further perpetuate the dangerous myths about sex crimes that result in most men being allowed to rape with impunity.

@bindelj

The 47-year-old princess, ghd straighteners, Infanta Cristina, last month became the first direct descendant of a Spanish monarch to be summoned in a criminal case. Her husband, Iñaki Urdangarin, is under investigation for allegedly embezzling millions of dollars in public funds through sports charities he ran.

The princess had been called to testify before a panel of judges about her role at Noos Institute, a nonprofit umbrella group Urdangarin ran from 2004 to 2006. Cristina was listed as a board member and advisor to Noos, though her husband has testified that she actually had little knowledge of his dealings there.

Urdangarin,Mulberry sale, a former Olympic handball champion, and his former business partner, lunette ray ban pas cher, Diego Torres, ghd sale, are accused of siphoning off at least $6.4 million in public donations earmarked for sports and cultural events organized through Noos. Both men deny the allegations.

Cristina was subpoenaed April 3, but the court suspended its proceedings against her two days later and postponed her April 27 court appearance. At the time, government ministers urged a quick resolution to the case and expressed concern that it might damage reputation.

Tuesday's 2-1 ruling by a three-judge appeals court on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca makes that stay permanent, and Cristina is no longer considered to be under investigation. However, ray ban sunglasses, the princess could be called for questioning in the future if new evidence about money-laundering or other financial crimes comes to light, a court document said.

Urdangarin was bestowed the royal title Duke of Palma upon his 1997 marriage to the princess, burberry outlet, whom he had met at the in Atlanta a year earlier. He and Cristina remain married,Mulberry handbags, although she and the couple's four children live in Barcelona.

The town of Palma de Mallorca, the capital of Spain's Balearic Islands, burberry sito ufficiale, wrote a letter to the royal palace earlier this year requesting that Urdangarin stop using his title. A street named after him there was also changed.

The palace had no immediate comment about Tuesday's ruling. The nearly three-year corruption probe against Urdangarin, ray ban pas cher, 45, is the latest in a series of scandals that have tarnished the royal family's reputation and stirred up uncertainty about the future of the monarchy.

Juan Carlos has long been credited with keeping Spain intact through its transition to democracy after the 1975 death of military dictator Francisco Franco and a 1981 coup by military officers. But last spring, he was forced to issue an unprecedented apology for going elephant hunting in Africa while his country was mired in recession.

A monthly public opinion poll conducted by the Spanish government revealed that the royal family's approval rating in April was just 37%, down about 12 percentage points in two years, but still higher than that of the government.

ALSO:

Related-articles:

== Consumers shift to older iPhones raises concerns on Wall Str ==

And yet, because the Oakland resident opted to buy a cheaper, hogan, older iPhone 4 rather than the latest, pricier iPhone 5,lunettes ray ban, she represents a trend that has become a growing concern on Wall Street.

In recent months, such an unusually large proportion of consumers are opting to buy older iPhone models that some analysts have begun to wonder whether Apple has lost its ability to create new versions that have enough dazzle to justify their high prices.

Not only has the shift toward cheaper phones nibbled away at Apple's profit margins, it's been dramatic enough for some analysts to view the iPhone 5 as a disappointment.

"I think it's no surprise then that the iPhone 5 is selling worse than expected," said Brian Colello, an analyst at .

When Macchiavello went shopping recently for a new phone, she wasn't thinking about the bigger screen size of the iPhone 5, its faster processor, or the fact it could come with 32 gigabytes of memory. What she did think about was its price, ranging from $199 to $399.

So instead, she gravitated to the iPhone 4, which to some may border on heresy in the gadget-obsessed Bay Area. Macchiavello got the iPhone with a mere 8 gigabytes of memory for practically free from AT&T in exchange for signing a two-year service contract.

"I'm not one who feels like I need to get the coolest things right away," Macchiavello said. "After a short period of time, ralph lauren, the coolest thing isn't that cool anymore, and then it gets a lot cheaper."

Apple would argue that it's happy to have customers like Macchiavello. The company has found that once people buy Apple products, chanel borse, they tend to keeping buying more Apple products over time. Customer satisfaction is so high, and loyalty so strong, that a customer that starts small today is likely to grow into a bigger one down the road.

"Apple's 'black hole' ecosystem captures subscribers who never leave," Yankee Group analyst Carl Howe wrote in a recent report that argues these factors will give Apple a long-term advantage over rivals that run on operating platforms such as Google's Android.

Many analysts are not entirely convinced.

That's because Apple has built its reputation and much of its business in recent years on the ability to consistently deliver new versions of it products, especially the iPhone, that consumers were more than happy to buy in ever greater numbers at premium prices.

That was true at first of the iPhone 5 that went on sale last September. Apple said it sold 5 million units in the first three days, compared with 4 million of the iPhone 4S in 2011 and 1.7 million of the iPhone 4 in 2010.

But sales growth has slowed. In January, ray ban sunglasses, Apple executives said the company could have sold more iPhones if had the ability to make more older models.

After the Apple earnings conference call Tuesday, several analysts noted that the average selling price of iPhones had fallen to $613 from $641 in the previous quarter, the result of what William Power, hogan sito ufficiale, a Baird analyst, burberry outlet, said in a report was "greater focus on the lower-priced iPhone 4."

Although Apple did not give specific breakdowns between versions, borsa chanel, a recent report by Chicago-based Consumer Intelligence Research Partners found that for the first three months of 2013,ghd hair straighteners, 53% of those surveyed bought an iPhone 5, compared with 73% for the iPhone 4S for the same period after its launch.

Ben Reitzes, an analyst at Barclays, wrote in a note to clients this week that "the reception of the iPhone 5 and execution of late has tested our patience."

Beyond just profit margins in the short term, analysts also worry that people like Macchiavello who buy older phones with less memory are also less likely to buy other things like music and apps. Indeed, Macchiavello said she had downloaded only 11 apps for her phone so far.

And going forward, lunettes ray ban, Wall Street wonders whether there will really be enough new features on the rumored iPhone 5S presumably coming this fall to generate the kind of enthusiasm to cause fans to set new sales records and return the company to the faster growth investors crave.

"It begs the question: Can Apple bounce back with an iPhone 5S?" said Colello of Morningstar. "Can they add enough that's new to make enough people believe it's worth it to buy a premium phone again?"

Related-articles:
