Electric Skate board - The Next Generation of Alternative Transportation?
2 years ago I saw some thing on the internet that completely changed my life!
A video about electric skateboards. Since then I have had at least 3 different boards, that is as much a tribute to how much I love such babies. Yet unfortunately as it's to their biggest weakness, they break easily. But I still keep purchasing new ones or purchasing parts for the old ones.
"The electric skateboard was created by Californian Louis Finkle. Louis made the 1st analogue electric skate board in 1993. It then took seven yrs to make it to manufacturing, and thirteen yrs later it has yet to reach the tipping point where we presently stand on the verge of mass popularity of electric skateboards, the website".
So what's so great about a electric skate board?
They are incredibly fast. We're talking 20-25 mph and much more. Beware!!!
Besides being fast, it is incredible FUN!!!
Instead of taking a car for short trips, I now glide my option to the newspaper stand and back.
It feels like you are flying extremely low. Once you zoom close to you tend to look forward ( clearly ), meaning you never see your feet. It somehow feels like your gliding six in . off the pavement.
The range is likewise quite good. The furthest I got was a fourteen mile ride. After wards the battery required a full charge up.
You control the board with a pistol grip controller that controls the acceleration and regenerative braking. It's pretty effortless to ride a electric skate board even if you've never ridden a skateboard prior to. If you ask me, it's a lot simplier and easier than a typical skate board as you consistently have both feet on the deck.
The just cons of the electric skateboard are that they break very effortlessly and go slowly up hills. The brand I recommend highly, E-Glide, has a good assurance . 90 day warrantee on the board and electronics. six month battery warrantee.
There are 2 businesses who make these boards: Altered, formerly known as Exkate, and E-Glide. Altered boards have a cool wireless controller, but the boards are made in China and the consumer support isn't the best.
E-Glide, in contrast are extremely dedicated and care what they are selling. They focus on only using top of the range components to build their electric skateboards. Moreover they are the only electric skateboard business who does not import premade powerboards from China.
I personally ride the E-Glide "44 Magnum" a Madrid board created by Crossbow USA. several concave, and beautiful lines. At 44 in . in length, it's a Ferrari between electric skateboards.
Until someone invents the Hoverboard, all of these babies are it!!!
